Ruby and Marc’s Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding with Reception at The Hollywood Arms
A Stylish NYE London Wedding with a Candlelit Dinner at The Hollywood Arms (2025)
Ruby and Marc enquired with me back in 2025. They told me they were planning a big London Wedding on New Year’s Eve at two of my favourite venues: Old Marylebone Town Hall and The Hollywood Arms. They wanted their winter wedding captured with a moody, ambient feel and had seen I’d previously shot at The Hollywood Arms, which had prompted them to reach out. I was absolutely sold when Ruby told me about her decor. She was planning rows of candelabras, pops of red as an ode to the festive season, plenty of ribbons and hand-painted tambourines as her wedding favours to each of her guests, and she was most excited for images which would capture all these little details.
The Wedding Morning with Ruby
On the wedding morning, I stayed with Ruby and the girls to capture them getting ready. It was a busy morning filled with excitement.
The Wedding Morning with Marc
My amazing second photographer, Mi Kelly stayed with Marc and his groomsmen at a local hotel in central London to capture his getting ready. For weddings where my couples are getting ready at different locations and would like the morning captured, I always recommend booking a second photographer.
Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held at Old Marylebone Town Hall, perhaps my favourite London venue.
During the ceremony itself, my second photographers usually focus on getting alternate angles, in this case, Mi was able to capture Marc’s reaction to seeing Ruby walking down the aisle as I captured the moment focused on Ruby.
I loved playing with some subtle motion blur for this wedding, especially on moments like the kiss, as it gave it a really romantic vibe.
Wedding Portraits at Old Marylebone Town Hall
What I love about weddings at Old Marylebone Town Hall is how effortlessly cool and beautiful group and couple portraits are to capture. After the ceremony, you’re usually allotted about five minutes to make use of the halls and stairs at Marylebone before guests are ushered out, ready for confetti.
Old Marylebone Town Hall weddings can be very fast-paced, since it’s such a popular venue and they typically have back-to-back weddings. You’re usually given time to capture confetti centrally on the stairs and one group photo, then you are asked to move to the side for any additional photos. Ruby and Marc didn’t want to feel rushed on the day, so we prioritised just a handful of group photos so the remainder of our time could be spent on couple portraits to capture the iconic column shot
Hollywood Arms Wedding Reception
We hopped on a traditional London city bus to take us to the Hollywood Arms for the reception. Mi and I worked on capturing guest candids as well as those ethereal detail shots of Ruby’s handiwork.
Speeches, food and reception chaos ensued as Ruby, Marc and their closest friends and family celebrated New Year’s Eve together.
