Emily and Matt’s Northcadbury Court Wedding in the Cotswolds

A Modern English Country Wedding at Northcadbury Court, Cotswolds.

I am so lucky to have been a part of Matt and Emily’s gorgeous Wedding Celebrations at Northcadbury Court! I felt so welcome by the couple and their family, and was completely awed by the effort and attention to detail that Matt and Emily put into creating such a beautiful wedding.

I arrived in the Cotswolds early and explored Frome and North Cadbury before making my way over to Northcadbury Court on Friday evening to shoot Matt and Emily’s Welcome Party. The party was a relaxed way for the couple to welcome guests to Northcadbury and catch up ahead of the wedding day–you can read all about it here.

On Saturday, I returned to Northcadbury Court for the wedding day and was welcomed with fresh coffee (a vanilla oat milk latte, of course) made by @bamboocoffeeuk.

The Wedding Morning with Emily

Emily and her friends got ready for the day in The Ballcony Room at Northcadbury Court.

Emily was blessed with a loveliness of ladybirds in the windows of The Ballcony Room, which we learnt is a sign of good luck, prosperity, and love.

The Balcony room is so stunning, and as a Photographer, I really appreciated the tall windows that cast the most amazing light into each shot, making Emily’s portraits a dream to shoot.

The Wedding Morning with Matt

Matt’s morning began with facemasks and skincare for the perfect glow ✧˖°.

Matt, his dad and brother put on the final details–cufflinks, ties, buttonholes- in The School Room.

Northcadbury Court Wedding Ceremony in the North Hall

The Ceremony was held in the North Hall, an elegant, wood-panelled room which felt just right for Matt and Emily’s intimate and warm wedding day.

Drinks Reception in the Morning Room

Reception drinks and canapes were shared in the Morning Room.

We were so lucky with a rare sunny February day, so the celebrations continued in the grounds.

Portraits outside Northcadbury Court

We shot Matt and Em’s portraits at the front of the house. On sunny, clear days like this, I love to backlight my couples using the sun, or place my couples in a shaded area, allowing the sun to bounce from the ground to their faces, rather than placing my couples in direct light, which can create unflattering, harsh shadows.

Matt also had some spontaneous groomsmen shots at the front of the house which were full of energy!

Wedding Breakfast in the Ballroom

The Wedding Breakfast was held in the ballroom.

The ballroom is so beautiful and grand, with cascades of light coming in through the back windows. I love the styling choices made by Emily and Matt; banquet-style dining tables and rows upon rows of candles are classic, and a personal fave of mine.

Matt and Em made an energetic entrance and then went straight into speeches before dinner (catering by @pickerscatering).

To kick off the evening, Matt surprised Emily with singer @sazzy_hart, who sang all of Em’s faves. It was a really cute, emotional moment which brought all the guests together for some dancing.
